This set of photos is a fragmented record of my life and travels in the UK. It records the contrast between stereotypes and reality after I came to live in this foreign land. I remembered this country as the Sunset Empire whose influence radiates around the world, with a cloudy climate, where people from different cultures and colors meet, surviving Brexit and the death of the Queen. As an outsider, I gradually realized that the fictional scenes that once lingered in my mind were replaced by the infinitely magnified details in reality, and my memory was going through a process of being subverted to reshaping.
I have organized and edited these imperceptibly detailed images, consciously combining, adding or subtracting them, breaking with the unchanging reality, trying to use them to guide the viewer through the process of history being constructed, decided, organized or manipulated, emphasizing the magnified details - different people, different places, different experiences and directions, but in my opinion these details are with a certain commonality - they all build the shard of Britain, an edifice of countless fragments.
